T1
A digital transmission standard providing 1.544M Bits/second. This is usually carved up into 24 time slots each of which is 8 bits sampled at 8KHz, that's 24 64kbit channels.

Multiple channels can be combined to provide greater capacity, for example six channels are combined to provide 15KHz program service. Each T1 can provide a variety of services as long as all the usages add up to no more than 24 time slots. T1s are always bidirectional.

You may come accross a T1 under a different name as the delivery vehicle for an ISDN PRI.

Terminal Adapter
The device that connects an audio codec to an ISDN circuit. Enables you to dial a distant connection and translates the data from the audio codec to the switched network.

May be any length from 1 to 10 characters and any combination of letters and digits. Still relevant to this very day. The rule is, if its broke, get a Trouble Ticket Number.
